Practice with a plan, and watch your classifier move.
Shooting Performance takes the time you already spend in the garage and at the range and turns it into a plan built around whatever is costing you the most seconds. Each session tells you what to work on, keeps time while you shoot, and shows you the improvement when it comes.
No card needed, and everything is free while we are in beta. Works on the web today; the iPhone app is in beta on TestFlight.
Fifteen minutes on your draw
Your first shot was 0.21 seconds slower than your best on Tuesday, so tonight is ten dry-fire draws against a 1.50 second par. That alone closes most of the gap.

You have been a B class for two seasons.
You shoot a match a month and dry fire when you remember to, and your percentage has not moved because nothing you do at home is aimed at the thing that costs you time on a stage.
You did Mike's program years ago, from the DVDs.
It worked, and then life got in the way. The program is here again, with the schedule and the scoring done for you, so you can pick it up on whichever evenings you actually have.
You shot your second match last month and you are hooked.
You do not know what class you are or what to practice first. Tonight's Practice works that out from your first few sessions, and you do not need a timer or any gear you do not already own.
A coach decides what you practice, keeps the time, and tells you what the session meant. Shooting Performance does the same four things, every evening.
Whether you have fifteen minutes in the garage or a Saturday at the range, the four parts below do the coach's job between sessions, and every session you finish makes the next one better aimed.
Tonight's Practice
Tonight's Practice picks one drill a day, tells you why, and says how long it will take, so the decision is already made when you walk into the garage.
Ready When You Are
Your gun, your par time and your rep count are remembered from last time, so starting a session is one tap rather than a form.
The Timer
The Timer runs on your phone for dry fire and connects to a Bluetooth shot timer at the range, so every rep records itself while you shoot and there is nothing to type between runs.
The Review
When you finish, The Review puts the honest number next to your last session, your best and your goal, and tells you what is lined up for Thursday.
Your next week is built around the one thing costing you the most time.
Most shooters know their overall time on a drill but not where the time goes. Shooting Performance breaks a run into the draw, the splits and the hits, compares each one to the best you have actually shot, and builds next week around the part that is costing you the most.
The numbers come from your own runs, so there is nothing to argue with, and anything we estimate is labelled as an estimate, with the number of runs behind it.
The drills are Mike's. The plan is built around you.
Mike Seeklander has taught competitive shooters for years, written the books many of them learned from, and recorded 173 lessons for this app. Every drill in the library carries his par time, so the number you post is measured the way he measures it, and when Your Week is planned, it is built from his drills for the skill you need most.
“The key to improvement is structured, deliberate practice. Track every rep, review every session, and let the data guide your training.”
Mike Seeklander · USPSA Grand Master · Founder, Shooting-Performance.com
The programs you may already know, scheduled into your week.
Each program is a sequence of lessons and drills placed on the evenings you have, so you work through it a module at a time without planning any of it yourself. If you own Mike's book or the DVDs, you will recognise the material; the schedule and the scoring are now done for you.
The questions shooters ask us first.
- I already know what I need to work on.
Then run it. Any of the 190 drills can be started on its own, outside the plan, with the par time and the scoring already set. The plan is there for the nights you would rather not decide, and it gets smarter from every drill you run on your own.
Bill Drill · 3.00 parEl Presidente · 10.00 parDot Torture · 50 roundsand 187 more- Do I need a shot timer?
Not to start. Your phone is the par timer for dry fire, which is most of the plan on weeknights. At the range, The Timer connects to Bluetooth shot timers so your times record themselves, and that works on the free tier too, because we would rather you used the timer you own than bought a feature.
- I shoot IDPA, not USPSA.
The plan is built for USPSA, IDPA and Steel Challenge, and it scores each the way that sport scores it. Mike's IDPA Mastery Program is in the library alongside the USPSA material.
- Is this just Mike's DVDs in an app?
The lessons are Mike's, and that is the point. What Shooting Performance adds is the part the DVDs could never do: it puts the sessions on your calendar, times every rep, and changes next week based on what this week showed. Your progress through a program is saved, so you can stop for a month and pick it back up where you were.
- What does it cost?
Nothing while we are in beta. Every account gets Tonight's Practice, The Timer, Your Week, the full library and Mike's programs, and we do not take a card to start. When billing begins, Pro will be $12.99 a month or $99 a year, and anyone who joined during the beta is a founding member and will be offered the founding rate first.
